Ever since 'Kalki 2898 AD' hit the screens, fans and the film industry have been buzzing about Amitabh Bachchan's stunning performance. On Sunday night, Big B stepped out with his son Abhishek and friends to watch the movie. Sharing the experience on his blog, he posted a series of photos from their movie night, revealing it was his first time seeing 'Kalki' in theatres.

In the snapshots, the father-son duo can be seen enjoying the film. Big B wrote, "A Sunday of Sundays.. the well-wishers at GOJ and then to Kalki with some friends to see on the big screen.. seeing the film for the first time.. Had not been out for years.. but so satisfying to witness all the progress.."

Abhishek Bachchan was left speechless by his father's performance, which he expressed on his X handle: "#Kalki2898AD = 🤯. Wow!"

Amitabh Bachchan has been receiving widespread praise for his portrayal of the immortal Ashwatthama. 'Kalki 2898 AD' opened with a bang, raking in a massive Rs 191.5 crore gross worldwide on its first day.

Directed by Nag Ashwin, the post-apocalyptic film, inspired by Hindu scriptures and set in the year 2898 AD, features an ensemble cast including Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, and Disha Patani. The movie blends mythology with sci-fi in a futuristic setting.

Before its release on June 27, the filmmakers hosted a grand event in Mumbai. During the event, Big B shared his experience of working on the film and his reaction to the script. He praised Nag Ashwin for his visionary concept.

"Nagi came and explained the idea of Kalki 2898 AD. After he left, I thought, what the hell is Nagi drinking? To think of something like this is absolutely outrageous. Some of the visuals you have seen are unbelievable. To have someone conceive a project so futuristic is amazing," Big B said.

He added, "No matter what Nag Ashwin thought of, he actually got all the material and effects to match his vision. It has been an amazing experience working for Kalki 2898 AD, which I will never forget."

The film also features cameos by Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, and Mrunal Thakur, adding to its star-studded lineup.
